The birth of Jesus Christ was announced by a celestial messenger to the most unlikely group of people on Earth. The shepherds were unlearned and were considered socially insignificant. Their lowly vocation separated them from mainstream society. But God chose them to first hear the “good news of great joy for all people,” the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It was to them that the heavenly hosts proclaimed the Redeemer’s birth. The angel’s first words were, “Fear not.” They were words of reassurance, meant to calm the hearts of people who had never encountered something so infinitely majestic. Instead of feeling afraid, they were meant to rejoice. They needed to hear the Good News — that Christ is indeed our One True Hope — not just for today, but for all time and eternity

My Haggai Leader Experience in Maui affirmed God’s calling on my life. It strengthened my confidence in the Lord — that He would be the One to guide and direct my steps. I was able to build strong and enduring friendships with my Haggai classmates and other alumni. This has opened doors of opportunity to work together and engage with different sectors of society and share the Gospel with people we would have never encountered and in places we would not normally reach.
