Jesus came to set the captives free. He came to fulfill Scripture. Jesus comes with a message that changes lives, for good. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17). The anointing of the Spirit of the Lord sets free and empowers us to live life to the fullest. Countless numbers are carrying all kinds of burdens, and the airwaves are filled with images and reports of atrocities and disasters. The temptation to give up is real. However, this need not be the case. Our Lord Jesus brings hope. Burdens are lifted at Calvary. Jesus came in to the world to make a difference, something He still does. He comes to heal the brokenhearted. He offers liberty to those oppressed through ignorance. He brings recovery of sight to the spiritually blind and poor. Spiritual blindness is dangerous. There is a lot of that in our society with some so-called prophets misleading their followers with outrageous teachings. Jesus comes with liberty to all addicted to sin and wickedness. Sin enslaves and oppresses. When we allow Jesus to come into our lives, He transforms us and ushers us into new dimensions of living. We have hope, confidence, and dignity. He dismantles the things that hold us back from fulfilling our purpose in life. In His presence there is fullness of joy, and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore (Ps. 16:11).

One major takeaway for me was the realization that the hearers of the Word need to make a decision on what has been presented to them. I have made it my aim to get my audiences and readers to appreciate that need and act on it. I have also not stopped writing and sharing my experiences as a result of the encouragement I received from my time at Haggai. With my Memoirs from the HillTop, launched in October 2021, I have now written 10 books, and counting.
