My mother always encourages me to give no matter how insignificant a gift. She says when you give you will receive more blessings in return. We often associate giving with money or material possessions, but there is so much more to give. In life most people expect to receive that which they have given. When God says give and it will come back to you, the emphasis is on the behavior we portray toward the others around us. How we interact with others matters most as Christians. Our behavior should be Christlike, as God expects us to love as Jesus loved. There is so much to give other than material possessions. As children of God we must love, care, forgive, not condemn, and not judge, and when we do all this, we will not only receive that which we give out, but a good measure, pressed down together, and running over. There is more blessing in generosity, for with the measure you use, it will be measured — or given — back to you.
