Handbags and shoes! I was crazy about them. I could not stop buying them, despite the lack of space in my cupboard and rack. Strangely, Thankfully, God shook me from my crazy addiction. I was convicted as I read about India’s late president, Dr. Abdul Kalam, who was a minimalist. He only owned a few sets of clothes, but his accomplishments, values, and principles were plentiful. During the pandemic, whenever I opened my cupboard, I found my worldly possessions and investments sneering at me: Where and when are you going to flaunt us? I hung my head in despair and wondered, if I had been one of the many who succumbed to the pandemic, what would I have taken with me? I felt shame and remorse gripping and wrenching my heart. From then on, I refrained from looking at clothes, handbags, or even footwear that was in vogue. I began to question myself: What have I done for my Savior, who has lifted me out of the miry clay and put my feet on the Rock? Am I willing to forfeit my earthly acquisitions and allocate time to work for His Kingdom? For lives are more valuable than the possessions we love. Let us focus on the imperishable things.

I was greatly blessed from the equipping and God has opened many doors for me to serve Him. I’m constantly reminded of the Gospel poverty around me, and I am praying that God will use me until my last breath for His Kingdom.
