Everlasting life is the product of believing what Jesus said, and it is also the promise of Jesus. You can hear someone’s testimony and be impressed. But in order to have everlasting life, you must hear the words of Jesus and believe them for yourself. Why? Because only the words of God have the power to pierce the soul and spirit and discern thoughts, as written in Heb. 4:12. Only the words of Jesus can produce everlasting life by getting through to our souls and helping us discern His truth. We can use many methods and strategies for ending Gospel poverty, but we must bring people directly to the words of Jesus.

Haggai’s ministry was powerfully used by God to remind me of the ultimate goal: advancing the Gospel.
