When faced with one of the hardest moments in His life, Jesus knew very well the brutality of the cross and its implications. Jesus acknowledges that His heavenly Father is sovereign, and nothing is impossible for Him. Jesus follows by indicating His will concerning the matter. He is clear that if it was His choice, He would not go to the cross. But Jesus concludes by being clear in His desire that at the end of it all, the Divine and sovereign will of the Father would prevail. Even when we know what God expects from us, it might not always be easy to do His will. One must learn to trust in the will of God as being the best way, even when there seems to be no physical signs of God being at work. Father God has you covered — trust and obey Him at all times!
