The key words to take note of in today’s verse are, “He grew up before Him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground.” Growth is procedural. Growing before the Lord requires you do everything God’s way and in His timing to be totally influenced by His nature and character. Like a tender plant, outwardly, you might not look like it, but your display of God’s wisdom (both in words and actions) will prove your origin. A root that is connected downward to the ground cannot be easily uprooted. So it is with anyone who spends time in the presence of God. You are anchored to Jehovah! Let the wind blow! Let the storms threaten! You are rooted to God, your anchor. You cannot be moved!
