Both our children, married and settled, have a name with a meaning and reason. Our daughter is named Sangana, meaning “companion.” I was 19 when she was born. I was still a young woman when she reached her teens and became my companion. Our son is named Kshitij, meaning “horizon.” Sangana and Kshitij are names given by man. The name Jesus is given not by man, but by God. It was conveyed by His messenger angel Gabriel to the virgin Mary, who carried Him in her womb. The name’s meaning and reason is the same: “Save.” Matt. 1:21 says, “He will save His people from their sins.” Jesus does! Believe in Him.
