In Brazil, one of the most popular festivals is Carnival. Brazilians love to watch artists parading in the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí for a night. Unfortunately, the party ends the next morning — a passing bliss. This is not what Jesus wants for us when it comes to our faith. The Jews looked to Jesus to satisfy their hunger, not to have eternal life. Because they did not understand Jesus’ message, the Jews did not understand that in front of them was someone who could give it — the true bread of life. God’s plan since Eden has been unique: to redeem humanity in His presence and to become their Father and Savior again. To achieve this goal, sinful humans must look to Jesus and believe in His redemptive action, which cleanses them from sins and gives eternal life. How often are we indifferent to God’s will when His will is to live with us for the rest of eternity? The happiness of Carnival ends after one night. God’s kind of happiness is eternal.

After going through Haggai, I realized that I can exercise my ministry outside the church by being a missionary of God’s love in my work and with my friends.
